South American Riders will be present in Germany for the great SandSnow Challenge of the Sand Spirit that takes place every year.

Every year in Europe the sand and snow riders meet in a sporting event at the beginning of the summer season to continue living the feeling for the sport on a snowboard, but, in this opportunity, the appointment is made on the sand in the event Sand Spirit, where it brings together the most enthusiastic lovers of sandboarding in this continent.

After many years and thanks to the presence of the Sand Spirit team that participated in the last Sandboard World Cup – SWC 2019 held in Peru, this feeling was infected in the SWC award with a nice gesture by the current slalom champion Luca Flaschenecker (Germany – Team Sand Spirit) who awarded his prize to the young Peruvian Jhonny Ecos (17 years old) to give him the opportunity to travel to the Sand Spirit to be held on July 9, 2020.

When the slalom modality ended and the German Luca Flaschenecker was crowned champion, he had not only considered awarding his prize, but that from Germany he had received the news of the organization of the Sand Spirit to delegate an additional ticket to INTERSANDS to arrange for grant it to one of the riders of the American continent under evaluation during the next months of 2019 and attend the European event.

InterSands considered the following criteria:

Age, Trajectory, Performance and Modalities in which it participates.

This evaluation led us to select Joaquin “Netinho” Mendes (Brazil)

A great challenge awaits the riders in Europe, a mountain called Monte Kaolino and where the sand is totally different from what they are used to sliding.
